Maasai have been denied genuine political representation through the colonial era and under the Kenyan state. MERC supports candidates who are accountability to the Maasai community’s own traditional leadership which typically lacks the wealth necessary to succeed in electoral politics but who are the true and vitally present leadership of Maasailand. MERC especially supports Meitamei Olol Dapash and his vision for transformed leadership in Maasailand.
